Katie Pelant

Counselor

Navigating through life’s ups and downs can be both joyful and stressful. I have learned that it is important to accept the idea that it is okay to not be okay all of the time. It is also important to accept that it is okay and beneficial to seek help and guidance in both times of hardship and success in life. I am here to be part of a strong support system and to provide guidance to an individual that might be in need of positive direction with their mental health.

I have years of professional experience working with young children, both typically and atypically developing using a variety of techniques in behavior therapy. I also have several years worth of volunteer experience leading youth and adolescents with both individuals and small groups at my church. These are such important times in an individual’s life, while it can be both exciting and very difficult to navigate. I enjoy guiding and connecting with the youth of our society and watching them grow.

I have a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from University of Missouri St. Louis (UMSL) and a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lindenwood University. I have experience working with a wide variety of clientele including: children, adolescents, young adults, and couples. I find it important to understand that each client grows as an individual at their own pace and it is my pleasure to guide each individual I might encounter in both times of joy and trouble
